A long-time runner, boxer, and adventure race junkie, yoga was something that seemed outside my scope of attainment. I felt inflexible, insecure, and unsure of attending a class. Then, one of my best friends invited me to a Lava hot class in 2014. The kindness and acceptance was present the moment I walked into the door, and I’ve been hooked ever since! After battles with knee and foot injuries, I knew that a sustainable asana and pranayama practice would be crucial for body, mind, and spirit.
Lava provides a safe, warm (hot!) environment for a calming, yet challenging exploration of the amazing things a body can do when we become still and focused. Inspired by the supportive and knowledgeable instructors, I completed the 200 YTT inaugural Lava training with Natalie, Leigh, and Beth. It was a life-changing experience, and I feel privileged to carry forth the practice and tools to future students. My goal is to be a guide for individual practice by infusing a sense of joy, inner peace, inclusion, and hold space for whatever the student needs that day.
